MM2017 Final List

10 posts in this topic

The list is now finalized and all that remains is for me to continue to fill in my missing information for the bands on the list. This will take some time. Maybe a couple weeks. I will let everyone know when the actual tournament is impending.

I will say that the polls have been an interesting gauge for what I think we can expect during the tournament, with Alter Bridge being the clear favorite as the only band to receive a whopping 17 votes for entry, with A Day To Remember, Avenged Sevenfold, Chevelle, Biffy Clyro, Deftones, Devour The Day, Evans Blue, From Ashes To New, Islander, Jimmy Eat World, Metallica, and Thrice all receiving 16.

Hmmm some surprises (at least to me) made the cut. Some people kept pushing for Aaron Lewis even though its a country album hmmm. I wouldnt vote for him just on principal because Im pissed he went country lol.

I also told people to vote for who they wanted to see in the tournament regardless of who they like or not so that no band gets left behind. And to be clear, there are obvious exceptions. I like Parkway Drive, for example.

I predict he'll be a first round exit.

I like the Town Line ep he did,  I thought it was decent.  Then after he really went downhill, started sounding like the rest of the top country on the radio.  I downloaded Sinner a while back, played a few songs and promptly deleted it. That fake twang he's been doing aggravates me.

On another note,  I'm stoked to see Cage9 and Sylar on the list.  Their latest albums are great.  Cage9 was discussed a little more on these forums, so members seem to know of them, while Sylar seemed to be a little more under the radar.  Hopefully it gets more people talking about Sylar, because Help! is a good listen.

So many good bands were lost... just because people didn't vote for 'em

If they didn't vote for them now, they probably wouldn't vote for them later.
