The Next Four Years of American Insanity

The testimony was about what I expected it to be. Nothing explosive, but a few good nuggets here or there. My takeaways:

Comey did indeed tell Trump 3 times he's not under investigation. Trump supporters take this as a huge win. That simply could be a word play, because the scope of the investigation was not targeted at Trump himself, but Trump's campaign, so it involves anything touching that. Comey mentioned that a few times. He even said something like "you never know what you find when you turn over rocks". That's kind of interesting to me because that's how Bill Clinton's Lewinsky scandal was dug up, the original investigation had nothing to do with it but that's what they found along the way.

Comey confirmed that no one at the FBI had "lost trust or respect" in him, one of the things Trump said about him and a reason for firing. He also outright said under oath, that that was a lie.

Comey couldn't answer a lot because of the ongoing investigation. Some people take this to mean Trump's guilt, some mean there's "no evidence" since he can't speak on anything. For me, it's in between. The investigation is going, let it go. If you expected fireworks or Trump to walk scott-free today, you are not familiar with how public Senate Intel Testimonies go...

Comey really seemed to want the set the record straight about the FBI's independence, the FBI's quality and all of that more than actually come out against or for Trump.

All in all, I like Comey. He handled himself with quality language and demeanor, and I think he is a good man, non-partisan, neutral, and doing/did what he thinks is best for the country. I think that he changed the future of our country with his letter to Chaffetz (which he then leaked to the public) about Hillary's email investigation (tanking her poll numbers days before the election) and helping elect Trump, but I do not think that was his intention. I think he was in between a rock and a hard place. I think that comes with the territory with that type of position. I do hold him partially accountable for her loss (among several other things) but I don't think he is in either Trump or Hillary's corner as both sides of the aisle will claim at different times.

I'm wondering what parents tell their kids and what kids think about tiny hands. This Mika Brzinski thing is just absolute insanity. It's funny that their response is that he has completely gone insane.

Trump has gone insane. Not news anymore. Our founding fathers are rolling in their graves 24/7 so far into the 45th presidency.

Idk our founding fathers had a whole lot issues going on themselves. He's probably more like them than since Lincoln.

And Taco, really? That's the best username you could come up with? And you used an email with your name in it. You might as well have made your avatar a sign that read "Reban Me".

Haha. I immediately suspected it was Harty and then when I read the post I knew it was him.

This forum is dead and is only getting less active as time goes by. I say un-ban him.

No. The only thing he'd bring to the table is drama and whining. We need neither.

Well the other post he made, he outright said he was Harty.

The million dollar question is... is occasionally unpleasant discussion better than no discussion? Cause this forum is close to no discussion as it is.

I'd rather have nothing than aggravation.

Seconded.

If Brad came back, I'd probably just leave.

I don't understand how somebody could be so compelled to keep trying to get back into this one obscure music community just to attempt to defend his political candidates. Especially somebody who constantly claims he doesn't care what anybody else thinks.

Remember when Trump campaigned on the promise that he was a bigger friend to the LGBT than Hillary?

What a hypocrite. I have to admit, he's a much better liar than the least honest politician.

I have no problem with transgender people serving in the military so long as they pay out of pocket or their insurance pays for any surgery they want. Breast implants shouldn't be included in a military budget.

I want to use positive reinforcement when warranted: when I saw Mike's name as the last post, I was really dreading what would be in here but I was pleasantly surprised.

CBS poll shows the Oompa Loompa President at 35 percent approval. Can it get any lower? Yes?

I don't think so. MAYBE an additional 1-2%, but, I'm not confident of it. Among many other reasons.... Only 45 percent of Trump voters think that Trump Jr. met with Russian lawyers, even though he admitted it. Half of them think that he won the popular vote. They truly live in an alternative reality. And everything we hate about him they love - cause nothing is better than 'pissing off liberals'.
