Terrible. He's very far left. A rich out of touch guy who doesn't know what's going on with average Americans.

Well, unqualified as he is, he'd still be one of the more desirable candidates.

And hypothetically speaking, seeing how well Trump's done for himself, I wouldn't rule out that he would be able to go far if he actually ran (which will never happen, obviously).

*Writing huge novels about Bernie Sanders mode initiated*

On a serious note, I'm about as big of a Bernie fan as you can find. I have heard all his debates, donated countless times, got his yard signs up at my house, drove down to NH last weekend to knock on doors for him and so on. If anyone wants to talk about him I would love to. (Other candidates too, but he is my focus for sure.)

So you believe socialism is a good idea?

The people of Canada, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark seem to.

Singapore is another example. They also have universal healthcare, which was amazing when I got sick when I visited there. It was $95.00 for 2 ambulance rides and half-day stays along with meds. I couldn't believe it, it was amazing. Singapore is a shining example of how socialism works well. I never got the negativity behind socialism because it's not communism, people seem to forget the differences. I've watched many documentaries with Bernie in them and he has been the person that makes the most sense out of any of the people interviewed when asked about fiscal spending and responsibility. He gets it and understands the issues facing the millenial and younger generations. Hillary is too status quo for me and the republican candidates are on another planet with their ideas to "reform" laws to how they were in 1950, which is called regression. Another person I'd like to see run in the next election is Van Jones. He's been on CNN for a few years as a political commentator. He's got a lot of great and reasonable political views that I'd support. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Van_Jones  I'm still wondering why Elizabeth Warren didn't run, but oh well. Feel the Bern!

You don't see an issue with a multi-billionaire who spends money frivolously and who has had multiple large scale failures that have tanked billions of dollars (see article http://finance.yahoo.com/news/12-donald-trump-businesses-that-no-longer-exist-204923129.html), also see the demise of the USFL. I wouldn't trust this guy with anything. Not to mention the fact that he keeps spewing hatred left and right to pander to his followers. Some of the stuff he says is extremely scary. I never thought there could be any candidate scarier than Ted Cruz, but Trump takes the cake. Don't get me started on Ted Cruz and his crazy rhetoric supporting the Koch Brothers, he cost me 2 weeks of pay with the government shutdown.

Also singapore isn't fully socialist. They have a capitalist system but the government owns almost everything. 85% of land is owned by the government. Yeah that's what I want. To give up my land so lazy pieces of shit can get shit for free

Proposal: Throughout this election season, when Harty inevitably starts sowing his ignorance, instead of engaging him with a retort and thereby encouraging more ignorance in a follow-up response full of ridiculous "facts" and irrelevant anecdotes, and making us all dumber for having spent the time reading it, let's just either ignore it, or only respond by quoting what he wrote and responding with "no Harty, you're wrong."

That's it — don't type anything more, expand or elaborate, or respond further. Just "no Harty, you're wrong."

Don't feed the trolls — it's what they want.

You guys should save your time and not argue with this moron. There is literally no amount of facts, logic, or any other information that would sway even a partial opinion. You would have better luck buying a carton of eggs from the grocery store and convincing them to hatch.

You're talking about Brad right?

Brad, I didn't realize you were such a racist, misogynist, piece of sh*t.

Jman, you keep on rocking!  Bernie all the way, he's going to lead this country to the promised land and eliminate pieces of sh*t like Brad.

How the fuck did me saying Socialism doesn't work turn into me being a racist ignorant piece of shit?

A couple people gave their reasons and I found a site that pretty much disproved their argument. I guess that makes me ignorant

You're supporting a candidate that supports shipping innocent American citizens to countries where they'll be tortured and slaughtered, simply because of the color of their skin, their religion, or where their parents came from.  That makes you and Trump and almost all Republicans pieces of sh*t.

Please quote me where I said I supported Trump

I was starting to get brick wall syndrome with you myself, so I appreciated Jay's first post, but the escalation that followed seemed really rapid. I guess one could derive "racist ignorant" from saying that Trumpism doesn't have any drawbacks (as if ignorant racism isn't a drawback), but that's pretty indirect. You said something easily disproven and provided an opinion piece as your back-up (I could just as easily link to a bunch of biased articles talking about how amazing it is in those countries), but that's hardly the most annoying thing you've ever done. If I'm being honest I think we're pretty low on the Harty scale right now.

I wasn't talking about his ignorance anyway. I was basically saying he wasn't trying to change the way our country operates which is exactly what Sanders has been trying to do for 25 years and failed miserably at it.

And that article wasn't an opinion piece. The writer backed up a lot of what he said.

If you want more FACTS...then here.

Finland has one of the worst economic growth rates in the world at a whopping .9 which is in the bottom 10 in the world. And that includes everything considered a country

They have an unemployment rate of 9.3%. To put that into perspective, we had a 10.8 unemployment rate during the great depression and the closest we have come recently was 7.3

Their share of world wealth is .27%. Tied with Morocco and Kazakhstan

I could go on like their 49% tax rate or their extremely large economic inequality

Also I think it's hilarious we have 3 pages of Mike going on actually racist rampages and no one says a thing. I post a link saying Finland isn't socialist and not that great and I get called a racist.

And again, to be fair, the only person who whipped that out was Jmg. Who is estimated to be 13.

So that's Finland. Now, Denmark. Canada. Sweden. Are all of these countries in the middle of horrible meltdowns? Pretty sure Denmark at the very least is doing pretty well for itself, and I hear mostly nice things about Canada. In any event, using "SOCIALISM" as a boogeyword makes you look ignorant because it's pretty destigmatized with most smart people. Socialism is a concept. There's been bits of that concept sprinkled throughout the United States already. Socialism isn't a rigid system that's applied to a country's economy right before it goes to shit.

And it's a weird accusation to say Sanders had failed miserably at changing our country. I mean, you're technically right, but what's the senator of fucking Vermont going to do to reupholster the country's economic system, other than run for president? That's like telling pen he's really shit the bed with changing the cable industry for the better.
