Patrick Wilson leaves Emphatic

36 posts in this topic

So does that mean the guitarist is the only original member left? I hate to say it, but this is a perfect example of a very good band who has been ruined by a major label. The Goodbye Girl EP was so good, and I do like about half of Damage, but the other half is just total garbage. And unfortunately that is where all the promotion went..

I like Damage, but I can't say that they're one of my favorite bands.

Would have liked to see them perform live with him but I missed my chance a couple times.

Always hard to try to replace your lead singer.

Good luck to these guys.

Is there any chance this has to do with medical reasons? I thought another band's lead singer was filling in pretty frequently. They were supposed to open for Halestorm a few months ago when I went to see them and the band never showed.

Maybe, but, this is what they posted on their FB. It feels like 100% of the time the reason is medical they always tell us. Could be an exception, though:

"BREAKING NEWS... Patrick Wilson has left the band due to personal reasons. Patrick will be missed but the show must go on. We are moving forward working on a new record set for release early 2013. We are so grateful to have the most amazing fans and we hope to have your continued support... we wont give up on you!!! More info to come soon!!!"

Emphatic is from Omaha, and I've hung out with these guys quite a bit.....Grant Kendrick is the guy who filled in for Patrick when he was out.

My guess is Grant might replace him, but I don't think Grant is going to leave his band the Wreckage (another great band from Omaha to check out if you haven't).

I guess a couple weeks ago when I saw Emphatic here in Omaha means a lot more now.

Looks like more than just Patrick left the band....I just saw they posted that Bill Hudson has joined the band, as another guitarist.

So they must of lost Lance too...I wonder what the hell happened?

I remember when I heard these guys last year I thought they sounded very very similar. And there you go.

Probably an upgrade for these guys to be honest.

Am I seeing this right (Not a fan so I have no idea who the members were) but did they add a new bass player, guitar player, and singer this week?

So much for For the Taking.

I hope that's not true, because they have some badass tracks and enough for an album. But I asked eddie and he said to ask toryn, who is dodging the question. Doesn't sound good for them.

Please tell me you are not this out of the loop.

Apparently so. I haven't really had time to keep up with who's where lately.
