Too bad there are so many dumbshits who refuse to wear masks even when the state makes it mandatory. It was being discussed that NJPW is already going to be running shows at a reduced capacity, with the condition that masks are mandatory. And they can do that, because in Japan, if you say that there's a public health crisis requiring that people wear masks, everybody wears a mask. You don't have a third of the population whining about their rights being infringed upon citing bullshit studies they saw on Facebook that wearing a mask actually is more dangerous than COVID or that it's all a conspiracy by the elite in tandem with the ultra-lucrative mask industry. Even when I frame this in the most selfish terms possible, my own personal convenience... I want this shit to be over. I want to go back to school, and concerts, and I want millions of people to not be unemployed and I don't want a massive economic recession. And you know what I can do to speed that up for myself (to say nothing of the vulnerable people who may not catch COVID from me and die)? I can wear a mask. We have a potential solution to dramatically mitigate this whole shitshow of a situation and these people are ruining it.

A very fast google search shows:
    - he was suspended for using a chokehold that the force has banned
    - he's been suspended in the past for fucking up a teenager with his pistol during a marijuana bust
    - he's got eight other watchdog complaints spanned over the past fifteen years

    Ya fuckin' clown

Cool. We now live in a country you can drive drunk, fall sleep at the wheel, get arrested, fight 2 cops,  steal their weapon, fire it at them, be shot and the cop gets charged for murder. I hope every cop in the country walks off the job

I actually got the exact opposite impression you got. The second half this season was as vital and fast-paced as the show's ever been, and I'd say it's my favorite season yet. Season four was waaaaay more slow paced, the bulk of that season was the construction of the meth lab.
Specifically, the last three episodes are incredible. Lalo is firmly up there right alongside the best BrBa villains, and the introduction of Jimmy and Kim into his world had me standing up off the couch a few times hoping nobody would die. Shit escalated more in those two or three episodes than in the entire series to this point.
And while it isn't what I foresaw for her, I think Kim's dark side coming into the fray is entirely consistent with what we know about her and that I didn't see it coming is a testament to the strength of the writing. She came from nothing, worked harder than anybody else to earn a position helping banks throw people out of their homes alongside fake corporate snobs who look down on the poor who scrape and claw to get to their level. I don't find it hard to believe that in light of the life-and-death situation she found herself in with Jimmy that she'd adopt some of his worse tendencies, the idea that she can do something terrible as a means to a noble end (opening a pro-bono firm).
And the tragedy of it is, Howard is ultimately right. In spite of his privilege and elitism, he means well. It's clear that Jimmy's on a destructive path, blinded by anger at Chuck and everything he represented, but Kim loves him too much (and maybe more importantly, relates too much) to see it.

Feels like we're building to one hell of a season finale for the 'Four Years of American Insanity' arc of the United States of America. Hopefully we get renewed.

I'm not saying I'd be happy or okay with it. I'm saying the blame would be placed elsewhere. The unrest is a direct result of actions and inactions by other groups. And nothing else in the last however many decades has worked.

I made it to this point of the post mostly disagreeing but understanding why you feel the way you do and not feeling as though it was my place to correct you, but this part, it all went off the rails with this ridiculous generalization. As though there aren't peaceful black protesters, and as though there aren't countless instances of white people rioting not because of the police murdering a member of their community, but because their sports team lost. Taking a 'those damn blacks can't protest without rioting' is a blatantly racist position and I know that you must've known that it was a reactionary take that you'd get called out.
For my own beliefs, I'm not saying I support taking a violent approach to accomplish change (because it usually tends to backfire, and this will probably not be an exception), but some perspective here. For one, it's a fuckin' Target. They'll be okay. Secondly, if you've spent your whole life experiencing targeted harassment by police and the reality that cops get away with murdering people because they look like you, and that shit happened in your backyard, you might feel as though the best thing to do is raise hell to get your point across too. I'm sure a lot of the looting is just shitheads capitalizing on the chaos but whenever this happens I like to remember Martin Luther King's quote "a riot is the language of the unheard". If you aren't pissed off constantly about the prison-industrial complex and institutional racism that seems to go hand-in-hand with our justice system and law enforcement, and how it doesn't feel like it will ever change, then you probably should think twice before you get mad about some people raiding a Target.

If that's true there's some chickens coming home to roost (no pun intended). America has WAY too heavy a meat-based diet because the meat industry is subsidized out the ass and therefore meat is absurdly cheap compared to most developed countries.
There's so much unsustainable shit going on at a massive scale when it comes to our quality of life. If COVID actually forces people to address some of it it could be a net positive. The hippie stereotype makes it easy for everyone to dismiss it but we're ravaging the hell out of our land.

A political rant I've got in the chamber but don't want to put on social media:
Joe Biden is, in all likelihood, at least something resembling a piece of shit. He's likely guilty of sexual assault, though we can't know for sure. His public appearances are basically a nonstop string of senior moments, and his party stacked the deck against a more inspiring figure in the name of getting a safe candidate who wouldn't rock the boat.
So I appreciate why, in theory, it seems like a good idea to put your foot down and not 'vote for the lesser of two evils', because if the Democrats get away with being bad leaders, who's gonna stop them?
But what concerns me is that the kids (of whom there are MANY) seem to be deeply failing to appreciate exactly how bad the greater evil is in this case. So the idea is to write-in Bernie, inspiring the Democratic party to see in the error in their ways and shake up their establishment and put forth a true progressive candidate in 2024? I think it's cute that these people think we're going to have an election in 2024 if Trump gets the office for another four years. Have they been paying any attention? Have they noticed the nonstop downpour of blatantly corrupt bullshit that's dominated every news cycle for the past four years? And have they stopped to think that this is when the GOP had a re-election to worry about? Yes, let's hand over the highest office in the country to an actual insane person and his goons to stick it to the Democrats. That'll get us where we need to be for real change.
Motherfuckers should put their money where their mouth is and go out and start preparing to organize a forceful overthrow of the government if they're so precious about not voting for someone they don't like. Throwing away their vote by mailing in for a third party might as well just make a contribution to the Trump campaign so they can at least say they were on the winning team when everything goes to hell.

I'm ok with the mother nature taking revenge on us. We deserve it

I'll give you the tl;dr: Trump has gone from downplaying COVID, to jumping on board and playing it up while pretending he'd been on top of it all along, to now straight-up telling his base to ignore stay-at-home orders and go protest their local governments to open the states back up. So you've got crazy ass Trump fans marching around close to each other in public (without PPE, obviously), reportedly blocking an ambulance from getting into the hospital, etc. These people have been feeding their paranoia and eating up Trump's liberal conspiracy narrative for a long time, and what worries me is that the entire country getting shut down by a pandemic and the government telling people not to leave their homes is just the match needed to light the whole thing on fire. And he's still encouraging it.

Are you praising the fact that Republicans will flush their morals and ethics down the toilet and make themselves hypocrites by participating in and defending rampant corruption?
Rhetorical question. Of course you are.

Again, the fact that you think he's too optimistic only really checks out if you think he's going to violate the constitution and congress won't be there to muzzle any overreaches. Otherwise, all that means is that he's a president with big, positive goals that doesn't just shrug his shoulders and go 'yeah, people are shit' with regards to the current state of affairs. Unless you're of the opinion that businessmen should run the world as they do now, there isn't much in the way of an alternative.
It's amazing how effective the media is at villainizing the desire to improve upon the flaws of society. Having big goals, goals to help the country catch up to much of the developed world in ways that it is sorely behind, that's a bad thing. People believe that Bernie's going to get elected and the government's going to start taking half of people's income. Do you not hear how preposterous that is? Even if you're understandably reluctant to believe a politician would keep his word after elected, there isn't a shot in hell that would pass, even if the Senate and House were both blue. It would be political suicide for Democrats.
There's multiple ways of looking at this: if you wanted to be critical of progressives, you could say that they're opersting under the assumption that the government can be an effective presence when much of history shows the opposite to be true. I understand that position, but I reject the idea that we should just accept that the government is bad and minimize its presence in our lives because you and me are doing okay enough. There's no path forward to a prosperous nation that doesn't require a governing body to oversee things, and there's no way to attain that without rich people (and to a lesser extent, well-off but not rich people) being taxed. And you're never going to convince those people that they deserve to have somewhat less easy lives than the ones they're used to living in order for the country to be a better place for everyone.
I don't know why I'm diplomatically spelling all this out for someone who will certainly not choose to try and comprehend it, but it's good to try.

My general assumption when it comes to politics is that you're on average getting like 50 percent honesty from Democrats and maybe 10 percent from Republicans. I wouldn't put it past a Pelosi to misrepresent that she's trying to get unrelated policies passed as part of this emergency bill, but am I really intended to believe that Mitch fucking McConnell is honestly pushing a bill designed to give emergency funds to poor people without giving much more to his extremely wealthy friends who are eating millions and millions in losses?

Oh and speaking of Star Wars, three months ago in the Rocket League chat some guy randomly spoiled something very big happening in Gears 5. Right when he did this, I took a screenshot of the spoiler to remember his gamertag. When I'm out of the theater Thursday at 9:00, this guy will be getting a nice message from me with the biggest spoiler I can fit in one sentence.

Wasn't as high on Breath of the Wild as the majority were, I am hoping to see many improvements in BOTW2. Mainly with enemy variety, more interesting quests, balanced weapon durability, and themed dungeons.
FFVII Remake looks okay. I think the updated graphics have drained the natural charm the original had, and I'm not sure how I'll feel about the battle system until I get my hands on it - didn't really care for XV's battle system, and it seems they just expanded upon that in terms of action combat.
So far nothing has really blown me away yet, Luigi's Mansion 3 looks to be the most fun out of the games shown, the Mana collection being released in full is really cool, and I'm intrigued but cautiously optimistic about Cyberpunk 2077. I am really hoping Capcom comes through and shows they are working on a Dino Crisis project, would be a wasted opportunity since the engine they made for RE2 would be perfect for a Dino Crisis remake and since they mentioned they have multiple projects being worked on already in that engine. We'll see.

Going from an old car to a new car is awesome. My first car was a 2002 Chevy Malibu that I had for about 11 years and then a year-and-a-half ago I got a brand new 2018 Honda Accord. I went from a CD player and cigarette lighters in the car to push button start, USB ports, infotainment system, auto-locking and unlocking doors and a bunch features I still don't even know about yet.

The buzz of wrestling world right now. It's a really good piece, and WWE predictably did the equivalent of calling it "fake news" before inviting Oliver to Wrestlemania to make them look like they're taking the high road. I also see that VICE is doing a documentary on the dark history of wrestling soon.
The idea of the litany seedy shit in wrestling and WWE getting exposed to the public and held accountable finally is very exciting, and it's well-timed with AEW launching soon and all the promises they've made about being different.
