That's the thing... If he were better, he'd be signed. It's kinda what Mike said, starters can be distractions but backups can't. I know he could be a starter on some teams for maybe the first part of the year and then be benched for future development once the playoffs are out of reach, but teams like the Jets don't want to pay him veteran starter money for doing just that. Especially with how prominent and powerful police unions are in the NY area.
In the beginning, it seem like  h was disenfranchised in general towards the anthem, but hadn't put a ton of thought into it first. The kneeling was after some PR coaching and publicized meetings. He also wore socks depicting cops as pigs in training camp ahead of the preseason. Then you have the Castro stuff after that. I think he basically has a general attitude problem, and the protest is just the one thing everybody is focusing on.

Honestly I never even knew what a Chromebook was. I'd heard the name before but I just assumed it was a tablet running some Android OS. I've been doing a little research since I saw your post and a Chromebook seems like the perfect fit for my mother. Thanks for the recommendation.

If that's the use case, why not get a Chromebook? That way she'll never have any problem with it. Plus, certain Chromebook models have (or will have) the option to also install Android apps.

A lot of the lyrics to a lot of their songs now just seem really sad in hindsight.

Guys I've had it with not having a good place to find that music we all knew and loved for so long, so I've taken matters into my own hands.  I'm gonna slowly start putting together a playlist featuring all of the shit we listened to that brought us here.  I want the hits, from guys like Three Days Grace, Shinedown, or Staind, but I also want the deep cuts from those bands only we ever knew about.  I want Janus, I want Deepfield, I want Joan Red, I want Dry Cell.
That's where you dudes come in.
I got started on this tonight but I don't know all of the tunes we need and neither do any of you.  But together, TOGETHER MY FRIENDS, we can make the ultimate collection of the music we loved for ten years.  All of the hard rock, the pop punk, the alternative.
Couple ground rules, just to make sure we don't make it too lopsided.
For now, let's stick to stuff from 2000-2010 No more than 5 or 6 songs per band to start, see what's been added from that band before you go contributing Don't delete anyone's choices: I'll do a little clean-up here and there in case someone decides to add an entire album, or some Kanye West, but mostly, just let people contribute what they think belongs.  I want this to be EVERYONE'S Tunelab Time Capsule. Have some fun.  Add the singles you never get tired of, or those obscure late-album tracks that no one but you knows. I've never made a collaborative playlist before so I hope this works.  If not, I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.  Give me a hand, y'all, let's make this thing great.  I got started tonight just browsing through my library but there's a lot more work to be done.

"In a move first reported by Nashville-based musician Kenneth Nixon — Decker’s wife Jessie is a country music artist and the couple has a home in the city — and confirmed by multiple NFL reporters, Decker is visiting with the Titans on Wednesday."

I appreciate that these guys are actually doing something sort of fresh with the active rock sound in a time when almost nobody is, but the vocal melodies and lyrics are both still too been there done that for me.

I'm sure this will be a decent release to listen to, but can we talk for a minute about how terrible it is that Soil used the most generic/awful font for the cover of their new compilation disc? (Pictured in article below)

I believe @Vigo once wrote an article on the old Tunelab site about local bands using that font.

Frankly, I can't get into Touche Amore and there's a certain goofy charm in Bon Jovi continuing to do his Bon Jovian rock style in 2017. Watching an aging Jovi continue to sing about how he's throwing down and giving people the finger fills me with glee.

It seems to me that sets a bit of a legal precedent (at the very least, a strong argument) that any person having a legally-owned gun creates justification for a cop to be in fear for his/her life and kill that person without legal consequences.
  15. Vigo received reputation from Kalt in Make America Rock Again - Trapt, Saliva, Saving Abel, Alien Ant Farm, etc.
The tour name takes on a whole new meeting now that I regularly see Trapt's singer going on Harty-esque rants defending Trump in the most ridiculous of ways.

I let an audible "motherfucker" out when the credits hit.
Fantastic episode, one of the best of the series even. I don't think anything since The Shield has managed the degree of tension this show pulls off--I was damn near trembling most of the episode, terrified of what would happen at any given moment.
But Christ on a sandwich, guys, give me something. Restraint is a great thing, and one of this show's absolute best tools, but it can almost feel like a weakness in moments like this. I appreciate the broad scope of the story you're telling, and the foresight to the endgame, but this is a television program using the format of seasons. Use that! You've built up all this tension, all this pressure, and now you have the big finale to your penultimate season. You don't have to blow it ALL open, but at least release some of it!
I imagine this show will play much better when viewed all at once without breaks. It's as top shelf as anything that's aired in the past several years, but I do feel like that unwillingness to pull the trigger now and again, to this point, is the one thing keeping it from a show like aforementioned The Shield. I still have to remove my jaw from the floor after rewatching that show's season five finale.

I just don't know that the white community is vocal enough about these white supremacist attacks. If they're really a peaceful race, why don't they speak out against crimes committed in its name? How are we to know that they aren't complicit? They just can't be trusted until this mess is sorted out.

I didn't care much for either of these but Andy Black was a little less offensive
  23. Vigo gave reputation to Ruiner in Chris Cornell dead
I have enough respect for Chris Cornell's immense talent and sprawling body of work that, in death, I'm not going to pretend that Scream wasn't total ass. He's not the first talented guy to have a failed experiment and he wasn't the last.
  24. Vigo received reputation from Lucas in Stone Sour working on a new album
I agree with both these. And I'm a big Stone Sour fan.
  25. Vigo gave reputation to Jamie in Stone Sour working on a new album
I don't think it is. If we can't criticize music when it feels mailed in and uninspired, then it rings hollow when we praise actually phenomenal music. For me to call "Fabuless" great would cheapen the poignancy of some of their past work. It's like handing everyone in the class who shows up an A...it's in theory nice, but then the person who really works hard and goes above and beyond gets 0 recognition for how much their performance set them apart. This song is not that. It's far from it. The songs and artists that are distinctively good deserve us noticing the difference, especially when Stone Sour has shown that they have the capability.
