  1. American_Idiot received reputation from NinjaNick101 in MM2016 Round 1, Set 15: Silverstein vs. Bobaflex
I definitely have to go with Silverstein. Much better band.
  2. American_Idiot received reputation from Music_passion_life in Blink-182 - California
I had to listen to it twice to really get a feeling what I think of it. I really warmed up to it the second time. It does feel a bit weird without Tom in the song, but I really like it. I absolutely can't wait for the rest of the album to surface.
  3. American_Idiot received reputation from Music_passion_life in New Papa Roach album
I'm impressed with this. Deep lyrically that you can tell Jacoby put his heart into with his past issues. I like it better than "Face Everything and Rise" actually.
  4. American_Idiot gave reputation to xeph in General Music Discussion
It's a fantastic album, maybe my AOTY so far. I'm a little biased because they're a Chicago band but Evan Weiss is honestly one of the best songwriters around right now and the band is fantastic, the songs translate so well live. Anyone who likes indie rock/emo/Death Cab for Cutie type stuff should really give it a listen, honestly.
  5. American_Idiot received reputation from NinjaNick101 in Pity Sex - Indie Rock/Alternative/Emo - (Michigan)
I saw their album "White Hot Moon" came out today and decided to check it out based on the band description since I've never heard of them before. I thought it was overall really good. They remind me of Silversun Pickups meets Cranberries meets maybe Weezer or The Rentals?
This was my favorite track on the album below:
  6. American_Idiot received reputation from NinjaNick101 in Thrice Returns
Now, you can listen to "Black Honey."
  7. American_Idiot received reputation from Kalt in Blue October - 'Home'
I'm a huge Blue October fan too, but yeah I'm waiting for the Spotify release as well. It's really the only way that I can listen to music at work where 95% of my music listening each day is.
  8. American_Idiot received reputation from Vigo in 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs
So... yeah. I'm kind of bummed today that my boys are done until October. Although, I know I should be damn proud of the Panthers for starting of what should be many years of contending for a Cup. I'm not saying the Islanders didn't deserve to win their series. Greiss was a goddamn wall and Tavares was incredible. However, the refs missed that huge trip on Smith which led to Tavares tying the game up. The refs are just overall terrible in every series in this year's playoffs it seems. I saw plenty of bad calls or non-calls in that Caps/Flyers game yesterday.
The Panthers special teams throughout the series was awful, Jagr was shut down, and they couldn't take advantage of winning the games (Barkov missing a penalty shot in Game 5 and Smith hitting the crossbar in Game 6). It's just amazing that the Islanders only led for 45 of 439 minutes or something of the series. I pissed off my Panthers buddies by saying that I'm still rooting for the Islanders in Round 2 as I refuse to root for the Lightning.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to Game 7 of the Blues and Hawks tonight and that Caps/Pens series should be awesome.
  9. American_Idiot received reputation from NinjaNick101 in MM2016 Round 1, Set 10: Burn Halo vs. Courage My Love
Yeah, man. If Burn Halo made songs like Eighteen Visions did with "Victim," I might have made a different vote.
  10. American_Idiot received reputation from pen in MM2016 Round 1, Set 8: Buckcherry vs. Lindemann
At least Lindemann is worth listening to for the humor. Without their lyrics, I don't think they'd be bad at all. Buckcherry's album wasn't their best IMO, but still respectably good.
  11. American_Idiot received reputation from Vigo in Got (NHL) News
So... the 1st Round of the NHL Playoffs start Wednesday and I'm super duper stoked! All of the matchups seem like they'll be great series. It's also the first time since 1970 that no Canadian teams made it into the dance.
This has been by far the best season for me ever being a Panthers fan. Words can't describe how amazing it's been as a diehard fan for the last 20 years now that they have an actual good chance to get past the 1st Round for the first time since 1996. This is just the beginning too of many great years to come
  12. American_Idiot received reputation from NinjaNick101 in General Music Discussion
^ Sounds pretty good. I'll be checking out their new album for sure.
  13. American_Idiot received reputation from Kalt in New Smile Empty Soul Coming in 2016
I've always been a big fan of them despite not having much success besides the singles on their first album. They're very consistent on each album they release. I've never had the opportunity to see them live, but would love to someday.
  14. American_Idiot gave reputation to Andrew in General Discussion
Sounds like a reason to be high if you ask me
  15. American_Idiot gave reputation to xeph in A Day To Remember Tease New Music
That song reminds me a ton of Chuck by Sum 41. Which, as we all know, is one of the best albums ever. So, this is promising!
  16. American_Idiot received reputation from NinjaNick101 in A Day To Remember Tease New Music
This gets "freaking awesome" status for me
  17. American_Idiot received reputation from Kalt in 3 Doors Down new album news
I heard this before on the Pulse Music Board. Pretty much everyone over there didn't like it, but I didn't think it was nearly as bad as the others did as some compared it to Saving Abel and called this "cock-rock." It's not what I expected after a five year absence from their last major album, so I'm hoping that there are better songs on the new album.
  18. American_Idiot received reputation from Green Baron in Basement - 'Promise Everything'
They're better than 95% of what's on Alternative radio right now. I've never disliked that format as much as I do now. Sure. You have Foo Fighters, Silversun Pickups, and a few others that do well on there, but yeah most of the Top 50 over the last few years is indie pop stuff that bores me to death.
  19. American_Idiot received reputation from Will in Cavo - 'Bridges'
I listened to this earlier while working. I think Cavo is a good overall band. However, none of their albums have absolutely amazed me to set them different from the rest. They're just kind of... there.
  20. American_Idiot received reputation from Kalt in One Decade Ago - 'Testify'
I thought they rebounded a bit with this latest album. I felt like they took a slight drop off after "Satellite," but maybe they're slowly reviving themselves.
  21. American_Idiot received reputation from Ruiner in MM Final List
I liked her singles, so I decided to give her album a try. I'm surprised that I actually really like it. She might not be straight-up rock, but I hear the same darker elements within the Electropop music similar to Lorde that I think makes her music different than a typical dancy pop artist.
  22. American_Idiot gave reputation to NinjaNick101 in Deftones announce 8th album - 'Gore'
Be quiet and release the new song already.
  23. American_Idiot received reputation from NinjaNick101 in At the Drive-In Are Back????
Oh man... This would be awesome if they're back to make a new album. I need to listen to "One Armed Scissor" now.
  24. American_Idiot received reputation from NinjaNick101 in This Is A List For A Thing That We Do Here
I'd vote her in. Her stuff that I've heard is pretty decent. If Elle King gets in, I don't see how she shouldn't either.
  25. American_Idiot received reputation from RainbowDragon in Scott Weiland Has Passed Away
I'll just say my stance on this. I've never seen STP or Velvet Revolver live, so I did not know Scott personally. I wouldn't even say STP are in my Top 20 or 30 of favorite all-time bands, but I've grown up on Scott's voice over the last 23 years which spawned some of the biggest hits of the last two decades and more.
I hated to see him constantly struggling with drug abuse and was glad to know that he was in the works of recovering. While I wasn't entirely surprised by the news last night with  his history, I was still quite sad to know that his demons likely got the best of him depending on what the cause of death was.
I listened to STP's first four albums today at work and hope to listen to the last one and both of Velvet Revolver's sometime this weekend. It's been quite a few years since I've listened to "Core," "Purple," and "Tiny Music." There are some absolutely epic tracks on there that completely show why Scott was such an influence on so many rock fans over the last 23 years.
