  1. This band is incredible, really looking forward to this release. Loved their last two albums, and they are unparalleled in their live show.
  2. I was introduced to this band around the time they got started (2011) while attending grad school in Buffalo, NY. I've been a pretty big fan ever since, and it seems like they get better with every release. 'I, No Longer' is no exception. I'm really impressed with the sound they created on this album. It's a little more polished than their previous work, but it's still very honest and raw at times. If anyone is into the current indie/punk scene, I think you'll enjoy.
  3. Band: Pentimento Album: 'I, No Longer' Label: Bad Timing Records Release Date: 10/23/15 Stream:
  4. This is the closest event for me, but it's one that I won't be attending (because I'll be making the drive out a couple days later to see Every Time I Die w/ Stick To Your Guns and Harm's Way). 107.7 Alternative Buffalo presents... Kerfuffle Before Christmas 2015 Sublime with Rome w/ Matt & Kim, Borns, Somekindawonderful, Third Eye Blind, and Wolf Alice @ First Niagara Center (Buffalo, NY)
  5. Central NY hasn't had any holiday/winter events, at least that I can recall, in many years. One of the local radio stations (K-Rock) attempted a "Fall Ball" event like four years ago that ended up being canceled. It was supposed to feature Staind, Finger Eleven, and Eve To Adam.
  6. Had to bail on Edge Fest, unfortunately, due to weather. Someday I'll get to see Rise Against... Updated: 10/09 - Godsmack & Rob Zombie @ Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena (Binghamton, NY) 10/10 - Issues @ The Lost Horizon (Syracuse, NY) 10/19 - Transit w/ Like Pacific, and Rarity @ SUNY Oneonta (Oneonta, NY) [maybe] 11/02 - blessthefall w/ Stick To Your Guns, Emarosa, Oceans Ate Alaska, and Cane Hill @ The Lost Horizon (Syracuse, NY) 11/05 - Pentimento w/ Better Off, A Will Away, and Caleb & Carolyn @ Gorham Brothers Music (Syracuse, NY) 11/08 - We Came As Romans w/ I Set My Friends On Fire and Devour the Day @ Water Street Music Hall (Rochester, NY) 11/18 - All Time Low & Sleeping With Sirens w/ Neck Deep @ OnCenter - Convention Center (Syracuse, NY) 12/03 - City and Colour @ State Theatre (Ithaca, NY) [maybe] 12/20 - Every Time I Die w/ Stick To Your Guns, and Harm's Way @ Town Ballroom (Buffalo, NY)
  7. I've heard Jason Isbell's name thrown around a bit recently, but haven't listened until just now. I kind of dig it, but it's not going to make me vote against Silverstein.
  8. I've been impressed with the tone that has been established through the first 4-5 episodes. The tension has continued to build with each episode, and is really hitting a peak - largely involving a complex human vs human dynamic.
  9. The chorus is solid, but the vocals are otherwise generic in my opinion.
  10. Yeah, the whole situation is terrible for Geoff and Collect Records. Hopefully they'll be able to figure it all out, and get past this.
  11. I'm not really familiar with Zedd, and while "True Colors" is decent, it felt like it just kept building toward something that was never actually realized. The chorus acts as a pseudo-climax, but then drops back to baseline during the verses.
  12. I was only a casual fan of Silverstein until this summer. I finally had the opportunity to see them live, and they completely won me over. In fact, I saw them twice in the past two months. I was able to catch their final three songs at Warped Tour in July, and then I saw a proper headlining set in August (which was incredible). The new album is fantastic as well.
  13. Did we take a break from this? Was expecting a new match-up on Monday.
  14. Arson City has that "big fish in a small pond local band" vibe. They're probably a big deal in their hometown, but "generic" aptly describes this band.
  15. Saranac Brewery has rolled out their fall seasonals, so I picked up a case of Octoberfest/Dark-tober(fest) today.
