Do you want that to happen?

You are literally the first person I've ever seen say this. Congratulations.

I disagree but only in part. What I'd like to see is a team-up between Falcon and Bucky, because even though Mackie sells Falcon's charisma and Stan sells Bucky's pathos, I don't think either would really stand up well on their own, but together, I think as a team they could make a really great buddy movie. Their time together in Civil War was great.

I just think there's a distinction to made between sexually-charged or sexualized and sexual objectification. She's definitely made songs (and apparently videos) that fit the former description, but I don't think that means coming up with different ways to say "I want to fuck her" in literally every single discussion about her that comes up isn't creepy or at the very least very fucking annoying. A more becoming "she's hot" or something less aggressive wouldn't get a hard time.
Lest of all, this is a thread that has nothing to do with those videos, but an upcoming single that it turns out isn't sexual in nature at all. It's just "I want to fuck her", every time she's brought up, following a history of making creepy statements and being given shit for it extensive enough that I'd guess he's just doing it to troll at this point.

Fair, I guess. I think the worst song they've made lyrically is Last To Know. I haven't felt Walst to be anything worse than cliched, but I expect that from this kind of music so I suppose I'm more forgiving.

I guess what I find odd about opinions like this is that Gontier's lyrics weren't amazing either. Serviceable, but I find Walst's lyrics to be of equal comparison. Knocking the band now for this feels strange when they've been this way all along.

Can't agree with this, especially after having listened to the album multiple times. "Walk On Water" is very arena rock and gospel-influenced, the latter of which is something you don't really hear on any of the other tracks. I mean, I would say the most common threads throughout the songs are electronic music, which has been a part of their music since the self-titled, and arena rock, which has been a presence since This Is War onward. But even within those confines, you have deviations. Obviously there's "Remedy", which is just an acoustic ballad, but there's a lot of hip-hop and dubstep influence in some songs like "One Track Mind" and "Hail To The Victor". "Love Is Madness" is like dark electronic rock. Sure, songs like "Great Wide Open" and "Live Like A Dream" are closer in tone to "Walk On Water", but it's far from the only vibe on the album and it certainly isn't anything new for them.
It's funny, because I went back and re-listened to their entire discography this week, and the self-titled's prog metal and A Beautiful Lie's alternative rock approaches were drastic shifts in tone leading to This Is War, but from This Is War onward, their sound becomes a lot more consistent. Brighter tones, a heavier emphasis on arena rock approaches and using electronics, orchestrals, and synths to create sounds that they probably would've used guitars for on an earlier album. I read an interview recently with Jared where he kind of downplays guitar in today's age, having a distaste for the wall of sound approach. I think we just need to accept that this is Thirty Seconds To Mars now, and has been for quite some time, and they're probably not going back.

My personal favorite is a tie between Blue Sky Research and Our Long Road Home. Blue Sky gets a lot of obvious praise and rightfully so, but Our Long Road Home is such a vastly underrated album, and it's a shame that it's the only one of theirs not available on Spotify. It's also a shame they didn't stick with that sound as I felt both Plead The Fifth and The Episodes were kind of... lacking in some areas.

I remember learning about both Strata and Sparta around the same time, and not that I was confused, but I found it amusing.

Sounds less like a review and more a critique on how not metal it is.

I don't know how I feel about this album. On the surface, I like it, but I find that Thirty Seconds ventures more and more from the sound that got me into them and I can't help but wonder if they'll ever get back there again.
I've made my peace long ago with the fact that the self-titled sound wasn't coming back, but even the more radio-friendly rock sound of A Beautiful Lie is nowhere to be found anymore. Instead, there are electronics, synths, beats, and orchestrals, and it all sounds sweeping and epic when it all comes together in a song like "Live Like A Dream" or "Great Wide Open", but it's interesting that one of my favorite songs from this album is the acoustic guitar number "Remedy". It's practically the only place I can detect any guitar at work.
That being said, it's a real pretty album and there's lots of atmosphere. Even a song like "One Track Mind" that's kind of lacking lyrically and vocally still has some interesting instrumental bits going for it that make it stand out at the very least. I think that song and "Dawn Will Rise" might be the low points of the album for me. "Love Is Madness" on the other hand, very much a high point. I think Jared and Halsey sound lovely together.
Another thing of note that bothers me is the last song, "Rider", building up to a hard stop. It's very out of nowhere and kind of kills the energy that the song was building up, and since it's the end of the album, it leaves me a little underwhelmed. Not sure why they chose to do that. It's otherwise a good song.
I dunno, I guess I give it a 3 out of 5, and compares at least to the last two albums if not the first two, but I can't help but also notice one of my favorite moments on the album is the instrumental "Monolith". It's the part that sounds the most like the band I remembered.
